My daughter's 6th birthday is next month and we are brainstorming where to have her party. I live in an apartment, so at home is out of the question. Places like bowling & build-a-bear are extremely over-priced so we want to do "our own" party in someone elses space! I checked out the RECenters but for two hours we'd be paying $80 to rent a room, in addition to admission fees for the children ($6). We're expecting about 10 kids, so I'd rather pay less than $100 to rent a place and not have to pay for the kids to walk through the door!

Can anyone recommend a place near Springfield that rents out party rooms? Or even just a room with tables and chairs that we can decorate? The party has to be on a Sunday, FYI.

Thanks!!!

One place you might consider is Michael's or AC Moore. You have to pay for a craft, but I don't think it's overally expensive.

What about one of the paint your own Pottery places. Not sure how much $ they are. There is one in Fairfax as well as one in Woodbridge.

You could try the South Run Rec Center. It is right off of the Fairfax County Pkwy. The charge $40.00 an hour for their rooms and do not charge a per child entrance fee unless you want to use the pool. They are open on Sundays from 8 am to 6 pm. Their number is 703-866-0566. They have a playground right outside the front door if you want to let the kids go out and play as well.
