Are there any places in the area have free coin/change counters? Or something that is cheaper than Coinstar? I am also a member at NFCU. Do you know if they have what I am looking for?

Thanks.

I don't know of any free ones...our bank and credit union both charge for it. Doesn't coinstar waive the fees if you get a gift card as payment and not cash?

I'm guessing you don't have small children? I used to get some coin wrappers and have mine fill them up.

Capital one bank has counters in their lobbies that you can use for free but you have to have an account there because you take your receipt to the counter to either deposit the money or get the cash back.

Navy has one. We are members of Nasa FCU and the coin counter is free for members ( I bet Navy is the same ) with a choice of cash or a direct deposit to your account.

Navy Federal has a coin sorter/counter in their lobby. We use it all the time. It is free.

I am with Navy Federal, so that is good to hear. Does the Springfield and Burke locations have one? I am relatively new member with them, so I haven't had a change to look around.

Look online. The website tells you which locations have the coin sorters.

We come down to NC all the time! Is there a Navy Federal CU in Chapel Hill? We thought we would be stuck using Coastal for no fees
