The entire time I've been living in this townhome in Manassas, I've experienced my bed shaking at night. Usually 1,2,3 am. About an hour ago, I felt it again, only this time it was way more intense. My dresser started to creak & I could SEE everything in my bedroom shaking. I'd say it's the 3rd time this month maybe. Anyone else feeling this?? Every time it happens my sister runs into my room and goes "OMG DID YOU FEEL THAT?!" So I know I'm not crazy.

Quantico is usually responsible for this when they get cranking but I didn't think they were doing night firing.

Have you seen Paranormal Activity?

How long does the shaking last? My guess is, depending on the quality of construction, movement in adjacent townhouses can resonate through the whole structure and cause pretty dramatic oscillations. Movement like doors opening/closing, people walking or engaging in other physical activities, even wind gusts. I used to live in a townhouse and experienced shaking from time to time. It was usually due to the wind.

I'm not a structural engineer or anything, so my guess could be way off.

It's a quarry but they don't do any blowing stuff up at night.
