Or maybe just a L-Z jrk that likes to hassle good people. Probably been doing it a long time and good at it. I've seen this kind before.

Yes, where is this intersection with not a single sign indicating No Left Turn or One Way or Do Not Enter where police hand out tickets for illegal left turns?

Also:

The way they design the route is very confusing and you will probably get a ticket if it is your first time driving around there.
So even without signs, drivers who make return trips on that route can manage to figure out that something is forbidden? How?

This took such a crazy turn. That attorney saw this rube walk in and saw dollar signs all day long.

The way OP described it was

Quote:
there is even not 1 traffic sign that shows it is only left turn
... which makes me think that OP went straight in a left-turn lane, and there were pavement markings for the left-turn lane, but no sign that says "left turn must turn left". I'm still really curious where this is though.

Thanks, somehow I read it as him incorrectly making a left turn, when in fact the violation was incorrectly NOT making a left turn.

The concept behind my question remains, though - how can he say it shouldn't be a violation because the driver is not informed of the rule, yet people who drive that way on subsequent trips (not their first encounter with it) figure out that there is a rule? If it's the way you've described it, that there are pavement markings but no sign, maybe that's what he's counting on for dismissal of his ticket. Good luck to that.

I know of some spots near me where occasionally a motorcycle cop will be watching an intersection and pull over drivers who went straight from a left turn lane. It's a road where the right lane, which is the "through" lane, gets backed up and it's not fair (or legal) for drivers to go to the front of the line in the left lane and then go straight instead of making their left turn.

In the OP, or a subsequent post, you said you asked why you were pulled over and you said that he pointed to the sign. Now you say there is no sign?
