The traditional neighborhood newsstands seems to be dissapearing one by one. Are there any places left in northern VA that sells newspapers and magazines right off the shelf?

They've both been gone for a few years sadly, we used to get the Richmond paper (just cause I wanted the coupons and I liked some of the writers) at the one at Yorktown first, then it folded and we found the one in Old Town and that went probably 3-4 yrs. ago?

I haven't been to Book 'N Card for several years. They remodeled the shopping center around that time and found it inconvenient to get there with all the new stores in that area.

I would try the Border's books in Fairfax at the corner of 29 and 50.

US papers can be picked up at Border's or Barnes & Noble.

If you're looking for international papers, they used to be a really comprehensive newsstand near the Dupont Circle station. I don't recall the name. There are also stands at Pentagon City in the food court, in Crystal City undergroun, and at theFarragut Metro station.
