favorite diner, drive in or dive?
Yes, I stole that from the show, lol.
Wondering what your favorite out of the way, cheap, but good place to eat up here is. Any type of food, any ethnicity. Something most folks might not know about it (and you don't mind sharing). I am partial to seafood but it's not necessary to only post those places.
Thanks!

Well, you certainly owe yourself a visit to the 29 Diner. Used to be the Tastee 29 Diner, but for some reason, they dropped the Tastee part. It's still the real deal though, and about the only example of it still around. It's on 50/29 in Fairfax, just west of 123. It's open...lemme see...oh yeah, always. Okay, not Christams Eve. Otherwise, you show up, you get food. Diner food. Good food.
Another one to put on the list is the Vienna Inn in, well, Vienna. Right in the middle of downtown on 123. Don't leave without having at least a couple of chili dogs all the way. Maybe some gravy fries with that?

we went to shoney's b/c they had it Miami when we lived there and we loved it. Here in Manassas? Not at all. They had very few choices, the floor was dirty, and it was just all around icky.

Try Barnside Diner off Rt. 236 (Little River Tnpk.). They are 24 hours and have awesome breakfast!

My kids love Silver Diner. They love the old fashioned juke box players (not sure what they're called) that they have at each booth.
We've gone to the one near Springfield Mall and the one at Fairlakes.

Ate there many times when we lived in Chantilly and drove I-66 into DC every weekday. Superb food.

The 29 Diner in Fairfax is so cool - I felt like I went back in time when I went inside - it was like a Twillight Zone episode - and the breakfast was great!
