LOL, where do you dig up these things? I think I'd enjoy going to a adult prom. I skipped the one they had in high school because I was "too cool" back then. Do they have proms for straight adults? At last I would have a use for my old bridesmaid dress! I'm not sure the LGBT crowd would appreciate having someone who's not gay at their party.

I get e-mails and pass 'em on. Here's another one: This Saturday Ron White is putting on a show called "Behavioral Problems" at the Warner Theater.

South Lakes High School in Reston is hosting a District-wide Band Festival today and tomorrow.

Also, the Washington Convention Center as the Home and Garden Show this weekend. The displays created by the local garden centers are one of my favorite ways to see spring flowers. Just the smell of all the hyacinths puts me in a spring mood.

Sunday is DC's 39th Annual St. Patrick's Day Parade. Rain or shine, it begins at noon and will proceed down Constitution Avenue from 7th to 17th Streets. Grandstand seating is available for this 2 ½ hour parade, for $10. This year’s parade theme is The Irish that Built America. For more information, visit Washington DC St. Patrick's Day Parade.

If you're headed out to one of the St. Paddy's Day activities today I'd double check that it's still being held. Seems awfully windy and rainy out there for some of the events.

Never mind, I just got back from dropping someone off at the metro station. There were lots and lots of kids there heading into DC and decked out in St. Patrick's day attire. So, I guess the parties are on!

Didn't make it to Shamrock Fest this year after all. Maybe next year.

Today the Capitals are playing the Blackhawks. Sounds like a fun thing to do on a rainy day.
