Whats a good salary to retire on? That is what's the average after tax salary for folks there. We will be cash buyers for our next home so mortgages are not a consideration.

I am used to paying $8.00 a gallon gas...so thats not going to frighten me.

Any constructive replies please

Thanks

The only advice I have is, "think of another town to move to unless you have plenty of guns and ammo".

Since eastern wiseguy didn't specify a city, other than to say his wife was born in Cleveland, I'll assume you're talking about Cleveland?

If you are talking about Cleveland, I must say I'm glad I live in a nice, safe place like Youngstown, where having guns and ammo isn't necessary.

in cleveland the people actually drive tanks instead of regular cars. you didn't say where you are retiring too, but if it is cleveland, enjoy, it is a fine city. some of the best cultural attractions in the state and a generally progressive mindset.

They do have some great museums and such in the down town area, and the Cleveland zoo is always a treat to go too.

I feel ya vagabond! This state is a straight sh**! Been living here my entire life of 23 years and I'm also working on getting the hell outta here, but very indecisive on exactly where the hell to go cause it doesn't seem like there's any "great" place to live in the U.S. I'm also looking to get away from this darn weather, it's messes with ya too much. AND the people are absolutely dreadful! Any suggestions?

After you leave, you'll have a much better attitude when you return if you never leave, you'll be bitter forever!

Well that was constructive.

Actually it will be in the countryside to the east rather than the City . I have lived in Belfast Northern Ireland for 90% of my adult life...like gas prices the odd bit of gun crime doesn't frighten me.

Any chance of an answer to the original questions?

I LIKE C-Town!..It's quiet and quaint!!
