Do you identify yourself as Southern or Midwestern, or neither a mix of the two?

How would you describe your accent?

Where in the state are you from?

None of the above. I'm an Okie. Just as had been said numerous times before, we are mix of it all with a solid influence from the Native American making us unique in the nation.

I think we've done this "survey" a number of times already. There never seems to be a concensus when it's all over. We are what we are, and we are where we are.

Oklahoma is Oklahoma. Southern influences, Midwestern influences, Western influences. We are in the thick of it all. That is Oklahoma's best quality.

Hey Trimac! We have friends in the Gold Coast region as well as Victoria. Does the Australian accent vary from that part of Aus to yours?? We've talked to our friends on the phone and I THOUGHT I heard a subtle difference.

Oklahoma is decidely culturally Southern. However, I agree with my fellow, Okies: don't put us in a box.

We're Okies, and dang proud of it.
