Knots isn't close to Disney land but the property could bring in more money to that area and help Disney out allot in future. Who needs a Disney water park when you could have Epcot California.

They're like 4 miles away from each other. That's close.

me thinks disney would have already bought KNOTT's if it were a wise financial decision on disney's part. why not just keep it the way it is? it's been fine for all of these years so far.

whats a park with out one or two coasters? That area would bring in more money to hotels and restaurants. You could have one of those speed coasters connecting Disney land to Epcot.

Nah. I like visiting Knotts to sort of get away from Disney for a bit. Cooler, more calm atmosphere. Not as crowded and crazy.

Absolutely not. If you study Disney and the vision that Walt had for Epcot it wasn't just an attraction like it is today...but his vision is fulfilled in Florida. I used to love Knott's Berry Farm but it has really gone downhill. I think that it would never be in Disney's best interest to take over a competitor in the themepark business. They are the true experts in the industry and the Knott's legacy is so much different. The Knott's legacy is more about food than attractions. They just came about to get more people to visit.

Disney is choosing to expand internationally and of course they have quite a bit of land in Florida to expand but I think that they will always be in Anaheim. No where else in California.

Back 25 years ago Disney owned the entertainment rights on the Queen Mary. They were going to open a large park there and was trying to get Long Beach to do some very major road improvements. Demands got larger and Long Beach told them they were on their own.

Back in the 50's Walter Knott and Walt Disney were friends, Walter and Cordelia spent the day at Dizzyland opening day.
Knott's is owned currently by Cedar Fair. They were trying to sell off Knott's a year and a half ago. If Disney bought the park they would likely close it down.

Knott's was always supposed to look a bit down as it was a "ghost town".
The current trend at Dizzyland just looks poor. They used to be much more on about repairs.

What do you mean about repairs? I went to Disneyland last summer and found the park to be in great shape, especially for being so old! I really do hope that Knott's is revived by some company that will really go back to the original concept. Everything is just a brand now. Smuckers owns the rights to all their foods and I wish that they would bring back their pancake syrups! Yum!!

A lot of graffiti will linger for months, mostly table tops with names carved in them. We used to have our annual passes and once you see past the glitter and see the park once a week things stand out. Loose handrails, doors that do not shut.

One of the last times I was there it was raining, we decided to ride the Star Tours. The line had mats as it was slippery, the mats were not complete. I slipped and fell 10 feet from the host, my wife could not get the host to look at her or myself. After I got up he mumbled Oh, you fell? I seen nothing". There was no one else in line at that time of night. I did break my shoulder with that fall.
