I'll be moving to Carlsbad for work and thinking to live in San Clemente. I was told than it would be a 20/30 min drive from San Clemente to Carlsbad, and i'd be facing no traffic going down to Carlsbad thru I-5, is that statment somewhat true? Thanks.

Not bad actually. Only time I've encountered traffic is the weekends.

I wouldn't say "never" encounter traffic, but the few times I have driven to SD during the weekday, I never encountered any gridlock.

San Clemente doesn't really have much city life, it's a pretty sleepy beach town, sort of in the mold of Malibu actually. There's a huge burb area called Talega, and the area around the coast is fairly quiet. At least there's a Costco close by in SJC. I personally love living in South Coastal OC. I live on the border of Laguna Niguel/Dana Point near Camino Del Avion, and love the area personally.

The lively beach towns, Huntington, or Newport, are not that far away though.
