Where can I find a map that shows which neighborhoods currently have FiOS? I know about Verizon's address checker, but I'd rather look at a map if one is available.

Verizon's map is likely the most accurate, since they are the company who provisions and sells the service.

I can't find one, and when I asked on their Facebook page they referred me to their address verifier.

I'd settle for an unofficial, third party map. You'd think this would be a major selling point for new homes.

FIOS is miles ahead of DSL but cable is really fast too so I wouldn't consider FIOS a deal maker or breaker on a house. If someone is seriously considering a house and cares that much about FIOS, all they have to do is look up the address with Verizon. And just because its available at an address, doesn't mean the final connection has been made. They were doing that for free during the initial rollout but I'm sure about now.

Cable can have decent download speeds, but the upload speeds are still far behind that of FiOS. Same thing with U-Verse. For some reason, nothing can come close to FiOS even though all three use fiber.

It's not a deal breaker, but if I found two homes that were identical, I'd take the one with FiOS. Some people look for schools when choosing a home. I look for good Internet access.

What are you doing that's within the TOS for a residential connection and needs more than 5Mbit of upload?

Video uploads. The 25mpbs that I have now is nice. I could do with less, but I would prefer not to.
