Then people who know better are replying in those threads calling it a garbage, ghetto dump. Go post a thread every other week about what an amazing place Compton, Boyle Heights or Echo Park is to live and you'll get the exact same responses.
Seriously? Have you NOT been on the LA board lately? They ARE talking this way....about Boyle Heights and especially Echo Park being places to live now. Even ol' Compton is seeing some love from some quarters headed its way on C-D.

Oh, by the way, on a more personal note (I think I should say this); the way you jump to conclusions about people (who they are, what they know, etc, etc) speaks a fair amount of arrogance on your part.

There's that, plus some ignorance, plus some other things that I am not allowed to say on this forum.

Yesterday's walk was in Park Santiago again (different route), closer to the park, but today's was in West Floral Park and Casa Santiago (across Bristol from West Floral), as well as a bit of Morrison Park (waayyyy up in the north and almost to the 22).
Yeah, it's a nice area. I always find it interesting how often the Archery Range and the Lawn bowling area are in use whenever I take walks through there.

I find it quite interesting you don't have people on the LA boards whining about Compton or Boyle Heights every week unlike the insecure, hyper critical, nimbys getting so riled up about Santa Ana, Orange, and the ghetto "barrios" of North OC.
Yes, this is exactly what it is. Its like a bully mentality.

This mentality is pretty common in OC though. The reaction you can get when you tell some OCers that you are from Santa Ana is priceless. Especially if you don't fit the preconceived notion of what they think you should be like.
