Default Huntington Harbour?

I'm going to have so much fun house hunting when we move to Orange County. I just discovered Huntington Harbour while online reviewing homes for sale in the area.

Anyways, Can anyone tell me about Huntington Harbour? We love the beach (used to live oceanfront) and also we love boating (now we are living lakefront) and this seems like the best of both worlds. But without ever going there in person it's hard to tell.

The beach below it is Sunset Beach. Is that a nice beach to walk along? Is it dog friendly?

Fireworks on the Fourth of July= Do they light them off near there?

I saw that they have the Christmas parade of lights. I love that. When I lived on the beach in Oxnard, the channels behind us had that too.

Anything about Huntington Harbour would be helpful. Thanks!

I lived in HB for three years. We lived in an apartment complex in the Harbour. Wonderful area. Homes are beautiful but extremely pricey 700,000 to over a million. Great walkable area, awesome schools, my children attended Harbour View. You can walk to the grocery store, cleaners, bank, pet grooming, chinese restaurant, depending on where you are in the Harbour, walk to the beach in about 15 to 20 min and it will save you having to pay to park and fight summer traffic. Bolsa Chica nature preserve is at the corner of PCh and warner ave.

We always saw tons of people out walking with their dogs, saw them tied up outside the grocery store. Dog beach is just down PCH halfway between Warner ave and downtown. I loved living there and wish we had never moved to San Diego from there.

Parade of lights is awesome, the waterfront homes are all decked out in white light displays, they also have a boat parade where the boats are all decorated. The beach was nice too, cleaner than others that I had been too. Bolsa chica state beach has a cement boardwalk that runs all the way to downtown if you are ambitious. Going with the wind is easy coming back against it is a lot harder. The state beach isn't quite as crowded as what the ones in downtown are (where all the surf contests, etc are held)

NaplesRes will become famous soon enoughNaplesRes will become famous soon enough
If you like that area, you should also check out Naples Island about 3 miles north of that in Long Beach. Obviously I am biased because I live in Naples.

It's the same idea (houses on the water with boat docks, Christmas boat parade, etc.) but I think the setup is better. It's more walkable because of the sidewalks lining the canals and bay. Plus the houses for whatever reason seem to have a little more charm. Plus Belmont Shore is a quick walk from Naples. Belmont shore has a dog beach.
