The people aren't "friendly" like they are in the South, that's for sure. I knew this coming into the state, but man, even with my incredibly low expectations, I was way off.

There seems to be a collective chip on the shoulders of everyone around, like they're begging you to knock it off (what is this, 1950?)... And it's accompanied by an air of superiority toward everyone else--but I think that's most all of Oregon.

After almost 3 years, I can't wait for my capital gains tax window to close in regards to selling my home and moving out of this miserable little town.

I am dissapoint.

I'm friendly. I think you are seeing the pigeonholeing that many south east citizens find themselves in when they move here. Many of the locals do feel superior to individuals from the south and try as they might they can't hide it much. Sorry. But who needs friends anyway.
