Some people like their gays to be closeted. Another generation or so and this won't be an issue anymore.

I wish this were true, but sadly I doubt it.

The larger the city, the less of an issue.

Sure, Oregon passed Measure 8 in 1988 by 52% to 48%. On the other hand, when the so-called "Oregon Citizen's Alliance" got Measure 9 on the ballot in 1992, seeking to change state constitution language to bar "special rights" for gays and lesbians, it went down by 56% to 44%, indicating the direction of MAJORITY thinking on the subject.

That was pretty much the last gasp of the anti-gay movement, subsequent measures haven't made the ballot, and IMO, going forward it is unlikely their will be more attempts. Various studies show that between 65-80% of voters under 45 support (or at least don't oppose) gay rights and gay marriage issues. Pretty much the mere passage of time means that it will be a non-issue.

A homophone typo in a post on gay rights. Hmmmm. That is what I get for typing on a cellphone with autocorrect and not proofreading.
