Default Moving to Oregon coast - need advice please!

My Family is planning on moving to the Or. coast soon from Ca. I need advice about what are the best areas for families with kids of mixed ages. We're looking primarily at the Northern Coast (Seaside???) We're looking for a small-town feel but with decent shopping within reason, low crime rate, less traffic & weather that doesn't get too hot (below the 90's) yet gets some sun (I expect rain but would love to get some sun more than 3 days a year!) Any help is appreciated!!! Especially any info. on Seaside. THANK YOU!!!

Well, you don't need to worry about anything close to the 90's unless you stay quite away from the Ocean. No matter what, you will see extended periods of clouds and rain, but the few nice days in spring or summer can really make up for that. Tillamook county does have some nice towns, but some do not have convenient services such as larger grocery store or health care.

There are problems with the schools throughout much of the state, not just Lincoln County, due to funding issues, but there is a ballot measure that may help

We just moved to the coast recently from CA. The best places are Cannon Beach and Astoria (North side of the hill is the preferred area). Seaside is a big summer destination for college students and other youth and at times can become very crowded and unbearable. Just across the border in WA on the Long Beach peninsula is very nice as well. You can have the 0% income tax of WA and the 0% sales tax in OR. Further south in Florence is nice also, but a little more small town than the others.
