However most of Oregon was not extremely overbuilt with new homes like the areas that were hardest hit in California (central valley.) They had a huge oversupply of empty inventory before the downturn even started.

I posted this question in another thread, so forgive me if you've seen it, but just out of curiosity, which towns on the Oregon Coast would have ocean front or ocean view property in the 400-500 range?

Are there places to buy a piece of land on or near the ocean where a trailer can be parked for awhile, like, while a new house is built?

The problem you will have is locating a lot with water and sewer. If your question was $400,000 to $500,000 you probably could find it, but if you meant $400-$500 don't waste your time.

You really need to consider soil stability and storm exposure on the coast.
