This is my third winter in Ashland, and I'm beginning to get a bit frustrated with the temperatures. On most of the weather sites, the stated "average" winter high for Ashland is in the upper 40s; 47 in January, for example. As I write this, it's about 25 degrees outside. Yesterday, it barely got over 30. In fact, it's barely gotten over 40 for a number of weeks now. I like to do things outdoors, like golf and biking, so I watch the temps closely. I usually draw the line at 40 degrees. If it's lower than that, it's just too cold for me to enjoy outside recreation. Often, when it does go over 40, it's only briefly in the afternoon. Last year and the year before was equally cold, if not colder. Not sure where I'm going with this, but I partially chose to move to Ashland based on published statistical weather information, which is turning out to be not so accurate.
