I have a job opportunity pending in Lake Mary, Florida. After doing a little research I discovered that Lake Mary is a 30 minute commute outside of Orlando; so I was wondering what would be a good town/area in Orlando for a 22 year old to move to? Is Lake Mary too sleepy or suburban? I need some nightlife. I am coming from suburban NY and am not opposed to a commute to work.

Thank you for your help

Try downtown Orlando. Are you looking for a condo? The commute wouldn't be bad b/c you would be going the opposite way of traffic.

My girlfriend commutes from downtown to Lake Mary for work every day. It takes about 20 to 25 minutes to get there. The commute home is just a bit longer.

Lake Mary isn't too bad as there are a lot of young professionals out there but it is still small in comparison to downtown.

For me, I like the compromise some of the suburbs give. Lake Mary and Altamonte Springs are perfect examples of being close enough to enjoy DT Orlando anytime I wish, yet far enough away to be different.
