Would like to get Orlando locals' recommendations for a good steakhouse. I'll be staying near the Orlando Orange County Convention Center, so hopefully not too far from that. Would like to hear about the good places the locals like; not really interested in the big, fancy, expensive chain places, like Charley's, Ruth Chris, etc. Thanks!

Not a local, but we loved Vines in Dr Phillips, definitely not touristy.

Kres Steakhouse in Downtown. Spice on Lake Eola. Flemmings in Winter Park but I guess that's kind of a chain.

I second Kres downtown and add Christner's in Winter Park (a bit further away for you though).

Stefano's Grill in Dr. Phillips is an awesome choice and not too far from the convention center.

Check out Linda's La Cantina Steakhouse. It's been open since 1947 and has a fun retro feel with pretty good steaks at prices a good bit below the other options.

I'm not sure how I've missed this place, but it looks really cool. Definitely going to give it a try; Thanks!

Bull and Bear at the Waldorf is one of my favorites.... while it is in a "touristy area," you definitely do not get the touristy vibe while dining.

Christner's is good. May be a bit far, with I-4 being the only realistic way to get there, but it's worth a shot. (Used to be Del Frisco's)
