It's not odd. Look at what happened to the cities in Connecticut and PA they moved into.

"What ever skills they had in San Juan, they can apply it. "

Most of the people there are either on welfare, or work for the bloated PR government. Few or no skills.
Okay, at this point you have gone totally overboard. Back these ridiculous claims up with facts and figures, or just shut the hell up already.

I moved away from Orlando when the Eastside was just starting to go Hispanic. Now when I go back 3-4 times a year after being away for a while, it is astounding to see the changes.

What I experience and see though is nothing but friendly, warm interactions with ALL of the Latin folks I come into contact with everywhere - and they are of course predominately Puerto Rican.

I grew up down there, so I already loved and was familiar with the Cuban influence and population. This is just another layer in the maturing of the area. And WAY more good comes from it than bad.

I see the garbage on the news when I'm down there, but that's crap. It is not representative of the real picture at all. Trust me when I tell you don't want to see our news in ATL, or you would think twice about ever leaving your house. Turn it off, and get out and interact with people in your own wonderful Metro.

The real Orlando is much better than you are continually portraying it here.

.

I just googled this, from 2006. If things were that bad then, they are worse now:

I do well, but was taught to always stay humble. Life happens and some times the higher up you go- the harder you will fall-
Thats the truth. Its always sad to see when someones greatest accomplishment in life is creating a thread hating on Puerto Ricans.....gotta love city data.

They who the people of PR or the US? Should PR be its own country or a US state, that has been the debate ive seen. US doesnt make anyone learn english, we do a lot of catering to spanish speaking people because they keep a lot of their money to them selves. Firms and companys that make their product spanish friendly only do it for the money. Not saying its a good or bad thing.

What does being on SSDI have to do with anything? In my case I have EARNED the right to be on it! I WORKED my entire life until I was no longer able to. I am coming down there to spend my MONEY. I know, I know, this was a thread about PR coming over but you have incensed me one time too many and I had to respond. Btw, I may be getting SSDI but I do NOT get food stamps, section 8 or ANY government handout. I have never seen such a tiny minded person such as yourself and another poster on here. It must be a sad life to be on a forum board all day, every day to complain about everything. GF? I pity the woman.

When the souped up '98 Honda Civic people move into your neighborhood to force it diverse, not so great.
Is a souped car hooked up or a junker? Just trying to understand you definition of that term.

"Joey: Diversity is great--when all the of the racially diverse people are wealthy and educated."

I know Joey isn't wealthy and I'm not sure how educated he is considering his ignorance towards many things that he has made clear on city-data. The double standard from him is kind of funny.

education, discerment and wisdom are not exactly the same things. Im sure you agree. Diversity is great but not great, mainly because a lot of people are entitled. Some men dont wont to work with women, some whites dont want to work with blacks and latinos, some straights down want to work with gays, most older employees resent newer younger more advanced employees. So who is diversity really good for? It hurts the establishment but helps those not in the establishment. I support the idea of treating all employees and future employees like numbers. So people in life are favored while others are discriminated against. People like to lump the descriminated in with the LOSERS. When I say LOSERS im referring to those people who get opportunities and then BLOW IT. People who get great entry level jobs, but refuse to be on time for work, those who refuse to come to work when they are scheduled. Those who refuse to get along with co workers.....these are folks when judged I agree with. Its those who are systematically descriminated for not being what the establishment already is, is where I see an issue. Disney has high paying jobs, Comcast has high paying jobs. Their themepark divisions seem not to. Money trickles up, but doesnt seem to be coming back down. This in my opinion is a problem. People can work elsewhere im sure. Orlando has to lure some of Comcast and Disneys more high paying jobs from New York, Philly and Los Angeles to Orlando. Then the average pay number would be higher.

Why was this thread created? I feel like I'm wasting my breath even replying

If people from Puerto Rico are going to move here, then they will. Why create a thread complaining about it and bashing the people of Puerto Rico?

Sure some may be educated, classless, on welfare, etc....others who truly want a better life for themselves will do what it takes and better themselves and not cause problems
