Default 32828- What's this Area Like?

My husband and I are relocating from Cleveland to the Orlando area. He will be working in the center of downtown Orlando and is willing to travel 30-40 minutes for work. We are looking to purchase a new home, 0-5 years old and 250K.

We seem to be finding a lot of these homes in the 32828 zip code. Which seems to be south of 50 but north/east of the Stoneybrook East Golf Club. Does anyone have any feedback in whether this is a nice area to live?

Also does anyone have any other areas you would recommend with these kind of homes? Any help would be appreciated greatly!!

Thank-You!!

32828 area code includes the communities of StoneyBrook East, Eastwood, Waterford Lakes, as well as Avalon Park. Homes built over the last 5 years would be found more in the Avalon Park area, with slightly older homes in the Waterford/Eastwood/StoneyBrook neighborhoods...still in great condition and usually less than 10 yrs old.
Depending on your taste in property and location will determine which neighborhood you would like best. The Southern part of Avalon Park Blvd is very nice with a neo-urban town center and style home, but you have to not mind the view of the power plan. Stoneybrook is good for those wishing to be in more gated communities and be a little further away from the "action". Waterford Lakes area is your traditional residential area, with eastwood being your middle ground of waterford and stoneybrook, still a golf community, just fewer gated communities and close to the Waterford Lakes Shopping center.

The entire area has high rated schools, walking trails parks, great access via the 408 to anywhere around orlando including downtown (though Avalon Park and Stoneybrook have access problems along Alafaya...and 408 can get backed up going downtown in rush hour). The closer you get to hwy 50 the less desireable 32828 gets however. Close proximity to alot of employers like lockheed martin, siemens, tons of buisness along the technology pkwy. I live in the area and enjoy it very much. Everything I could need is just up the street at Waterford Lakes, and I"m about 20-30 minutes away from even the furthest parts of Orlando via all the highways around here.

For 250K you can find MANY properties available in all sizes with all different features. You may also want to check out Cypress Springs just East of 32828. Depending on what you are looking for in a neighborhood, your commute time desire gives you lots of options. Oviedo, Winter Springs, Lake Nona, and you may also find some smaller homes you would like in your price range in Lake Mary, Western part of Windermere, Maybe Winter Park. It all depends greatly on what exactly you are looking for in the home and area. Only a good interview will really help narrow things down for you.

And I prefer them over 32828. Look for zip codes 32708, 32765, 32766.
