It sounds like the Dr Phillips area would be a good fit for you. You have some back roads to both Disney and Universal. It's a safe area and if memory serves, there is a Publix on Sand Lake Rd.

Also look at Hunter's Creek, Winter Garden (easy shot to WDW now the 429 completed) and possibly even Polk county.

I second the Hunter's Creek suggestion, has nice shopping center with Publix and not far is a newly developed area called the Loop with retail shopping, restaurants and a movie theater plus, you can get right onto Osceola Parkway and it will take you right out to WDW and Celebration which is a great place to just go get ice cream and let the kids walk around, play in the neat fountain, etc. they even bring in snow around christmas in the evenings for the kids to play in, Celebration always has great events going on that you can enjoy without paying the price to live there.

I will say no to Poinciana. There are some nice homes in the area, but Poinciana as a whole is a very cheap and somewhat problematic area. The other areas mentioned are much better.

Thanks for the input. It's hard because you see the nice houses but you don't know if the area is good or not...we're planning a visit in Jan. or Feb. just to check out areas and housing choices but are there any others besides the 2 mentioned above? They look great, but would like to have more options when visiting. Thanks again everyone for the responses!
