woops my mistake, posting quickly while finishing up at work.

No A Coffee Bar is just a name. A bar is a place where you go to drink alcohol. You could call it an Oxygen Bar (which they've done in the past) and it wouldn't change that it is in no way classified as a bar in the nightlife sense.

So 3 out of 41 is a good number? Finnhenry's, One Eye'd Jacks, and Globe are the only ones that are restaurants. None of the other places I mentioned are restaurants.

Some aren't in downtown? Considering that I can easily walk to any of these places from my building I can safely say they are.

The stardust that is being referred to is very much downtown (corner of Osceola and Central) and is a bar.

There is a Stardust Lounge and a Stardust Video and Coffee.
A little confusing but there are two places with Stardust in the title.
I do not consider either one in downtown Orlando, though Stardust Lounge is in the downtown adjacent neighborhood of Thornton Park. This is close to Lake Eola and the Publix in the Paramount, etc.
Stardust Video is on the intersection of Winter Park Rd and Corrine. This is between Audubon Park and Winter Park, just west of Baldwin Park.
Both are cool locations. Stardust Lounge does Burlesque shows and other events. Stardust Video and Coffee is more laid back with an indie vibe and serves coffee and small food items.

Just answering the main question, I think Orlando has an edge on Tampa in regard to great restaurants, upscale options, great shopping, outlet discounts, nightlife, entertainment options otherwise... I think that jobs on the other hand is a little more in Tampa's favor. They have more of a diversified market and more traditional city layout and fully functioning downtown. Orlando is trying to take big strides in these areas and diversify the economy though.

My response made it seem like I don't like Tampa much, but I do like it. It is just very different to me. The two compliment each other well.

I don't consider the other one Stardust, I think they should be forced to change names, Stardust Coffee and Video has been around forever, its practically an Orlando Historic Landmark.

And don't tell the people around here that neither one is in Downtown, most live so far outside of the real Orlando MSA that they consider all of Orlando and Winter Park to be 'downtown'

I used that intersection to say I could name 25 more 10 minutes from there.

If you are refering to me, you couldn't be more wrong. Only a moron would consider the Haven or the Dungeon (etc.) to be "downtown." Same thing with SoDo, etc.

I'm talking about the recent poll for neighborhoods in downtown which included places like Little Vietnam, Colonial Town, Baldwin Park, and even Park Ave on it even though not one of those places is in downtown.
