Good morning everyone
Happy Monday
Happy first day of summer

Though from what I have seen it seems like "summer temps" have been visiting many of the QOTD family for awhile already

Today's Question(s):

This subject came up at dinner the other night, so I thought it would be interesting to see what is done in different parts of the country

Is it customary in your area to tip for the following:

Furniture delivery ?
Appliance delivery & set up ?
Moving men ?
Coffee shop counter service ?

Extra Credit Question:

When was the last time the power went out at your home ?

When this happens do you use flashlights or candles ?

Bonus Question:

How many hours of daylight do you have each day ?

Just for Fun:

On this "First day of Summer" - what is your expected high temperature ?

Is there one "souvenir" you always buy when on a trip ?

Who was the last person you shared a handshake with ?

Today in History:

Well since we have never had furniture, appliances, or moving men really can't answer to those. Coffee shop counter, none of those either unless you consider Casey's or Cubbys (convience stores), but always tip the waitress at the coffee shop who waits on us.

Neither, we use oil lamps.

Furniture delivery?
Not usually, although I would make an exception if they went out of their way to do something extra, like hauling the old whatever off to the dumpster.
Appliance delivery & set up? Same as above.
Moving people? Yes, definitely.
Coffee shop counter service? Yes, always.

Extra Credit Question:

When was the last time the power went out at your home?

I think it was last summer during a thunderstorm, but I'm not entirely sure.

When this happens do you use flashlights or candles?

Not when it happens while I'm at work!

Bonus Question:

How many hours of daylight do you have each day?

The sun rose at 5:18 this morning, and will set at 8:40 this evening, so we'll have 15 hour and 32 minutes of daylight today.

Just for Fun:

On this "First day of Summer" - what is your expected high temperature?

We're expecting a high of 83 degrees with occasional thunderstorms.

Is there one "souvenir" you always buy when on a trip?

Nope, I'm actively trying to reduce the amount of stuff in this house, and that means no more hauling useless tchotchkes home with me from everywhere I go.

Who was the last person you shared a handshake with?

Our daughter introduced us to some of the faculty who were present at her commencement ceremony on Friday, and we shook hands with them.
