Really?? Now I love my Metal....but Play that Funky Music is STILL one of my all time favorites! Besides...that is not Disco...it's FUNK. There is a difference....there is a lot more GROOVE in funk.

That would have been me! Putting together a playlist for our season opener bout on the 27th and googled "Roller skating songs from the 1970s" and found this thread.

AhHa!!! My first memories were organ music their may have been other music in later years. Hi Moonie!!! I got pretty good at it. Loved to skate fast as I could. I learned to skate backwards pretty darned good too. Think I could spin too!! Wow, long time ago..... Supremes were huge at that time... Slow Ride is great to here when riding the Himalaya ride!!

Hi satxy.

Things were different here for 2 reasons. One is that it's here (der! ) so we had a lot of Aussie rock bands that were AWESOME to skate to. and two it was a different era.

One of my favorites was speeding skating to The Angels ~ Mr Damage OR The Angels ~ Take A Long Line.

Whoa Moonie, I could have gone a hundred miles an hour listening to those songs. I guess they played music when the organ player wasn't playing. I've just forgotten.... seems like maybe these were playing!!
