YES, WE HAVE NO BANANAS. OH WAIT! YES, WE DO HAVE BANANAS!
To keep bananas fresh several days longer than normal, don't put them in your refrigerator. Instead, keep them out on your counter and wrap some plastic wrap around the stem ends of the bunch. If the wrap is a little loose, secure it with a piece of tape or a rubber band.
Covering the stem ends will delay over-ripening of your nanners.

Thanks, Pam. That explains why the bananas I see in grocery stores often have tight plastic wrap around the stems. We eat a lot of bananas at my house, and I hate when they go all brown and mushy.
