L.A. Calif mid 1950"s. KTLA 5 had Engineer Bill with his Red/Green light milk.
#2 son won a bike at a Grocery MKT couple doors down from my dads business on a Sat from Bill.

OK, time for a quick laugh.
In the 50's when my kids had a head cold with running nose etc (you get the picture).

At bedtime I would wrap a Smelly sock around their nec and in the morning NO red nose.

As an adult it also worked for me also...

Anyone ever try it?
