When we first moved here we were the only ones flying our flag. Now there's one other-so very sad not to see it displayed.

In NJ there wasn't a home in our area that didn't fly the flag.

Nitram and MM come on up here it's 76!

Wish we had a grill, too. That's going to be a priority if we ever move back to "civilization," along with a flag holder so we can once again display the flag. To be quite honest, I don't miss a grill too much because darling hubby tends to carbonize just about anything he grills. <shhh . . . Don't tell him I said that.> I can do a pretty decent job with just about any "grilled" item by using the oven. However, a grill is fun for outdoor parties!

While the family is gone, I'm trying to stick to a restricted diet. Therefore, I'm going to avoid the village shindig (too much tempting food). I was originally going to make myself and the dogs some short ribs since the family is having ribs where they are, but I've had some burger thawed for several days so I think I'd better do up a good burger and add homemade potato chips. That's festive, isn't it?

I'm off to see if I can find a top hat so I can perform "Yankee Doodle Dandy" for the dogs. Even though we're taking long walks every day and they can run & swim to their hearts' content, I think they're getting board with just me. A song and dance routine should get them excited again!

Grilling a rack pork spare ribs and some corn on the cob.

My famous uncalibrated thermometer says it's 105.9 degrees, and no, 105.9 is not a radio station.

Word of the day:
Fireworks- [fahyuhr-wurk] n
1.a combustible or explosive device for producing a striking display of light or a loud noise, used for signaling or as part of a celebration.
2.a pyrotechnic display.
3.a self-amputation device invented by ancient Chinese and favored by modern Americans.

Probably no bbq today, the wife has been under the weather.

Worked in the back corner of the yard this morning and got the remainder of the rocks in for a rock garden. If wife feels better we will go to look for sedum and hen and chicks for it tomorrow.

Took a laptop I got a bunch of nasties out of to a client. She was very surprised to see me on the 4th. I know she uses it extensively for communicating with relatives and friends. I also know she has a few that are very ill and the PC is how she is kept up to date on their condition.

No way would I make her wait.

Happy 4th everyone. Enjoy and be careful, please.

It is 76 in our hallway. That is what the air conditioner is set on so it doesn't usually get more than one or two degrees away from that. The weather lady said that is the ideal temperature. It just seemed right for us, so we set it there before she told us that.
