Lets find out about multi-tasking

How many of the following can or have you done at the same time:
Talk on phone
Surf the net
Read email
Send email
Read a book
Have a conversation
Watch TV
I can watch TV and have a conversation.
If I try really hard I can talk on the phone and surf the web or talk on the phone and watch TV. I think its easier to watch TV and have a conversation in person though because they're most likely to be watching TV with you.

Bonus Question:

How soon after you get up do you turn your computer on ?
After I get washed and dressed I come downstairs and turn it on. It takes a while for it to boot up, so while I'm making breakfast I'll let it do its thing.

Do you leave your computer on all day ?
Usually. I've been trying to turn it off during the day or when I'm not home for a few hours.

What time of the day do you turn your computer off ?
Usually when I go to bed around 11 or 12.

Extra Credit Question:

What was the last thing or person that really tested your patience ?
My sister.

Just for Fun:

When you go to the grocery store
Do you bag your own groceries ? Sometimes, but it depends on the store.
Do you prefer paper, plastic or the reusable cloth bags ? Reusable cloth bags. I usually get dirty looks from the cashiers for this and I don't know why.
Sort the groceries as you put them on the belt ? I try to, yes. Especially if its a small "20 items or less" line, since there's less room at the other end to sort as it gets bagged.

Have you ever let anyone with 1 or 2 items go ahead of you ?
Yes.

Multitasking is a necessity and I am good at it. At any given time at likely am doing most of the things on the list and some not mentioned, but I do like it when I can just play in CD land. I don't turn my computer on until I need to and typically it is not on all day, but at night if I can't sleep I maybe found surfing reading and emailing. I had a project that needed tweaking very recently and the person needed for the tweaking was not timely and that tried me... When I go to the grocery store I try not to self-bag, I prefer paper and I never sort because the bagger is usually not considerate enough to leave 'em sorted, so I save myself the frustration. I let people go ahead all the time especially mothers with small children and guys with nice ***** LOL manners... "Don't sweat the small stuff." Happy Thursday -aLLyaLL

Surf the net
Read email
Send email

Read a book

Bonus Question:

How soon after you get up do you turn your computer on ? Depends on whether "James" is taking Mrs. Tek to work, but it's usually fairly soon after I'm settled in. I have to check emails, etc for my job.

Do you leave your computer on all day ? Not usually. If I'm leaving for more than an hour it gets shut off.

What time of the day do you turn your computer off ? Somewhere between 10:00p and 2:00p depending on the day and whether we are playing a game. If we are playing a game it's usually at a web site that has a walk through in case we get stuck.

Extra Credit Question:

What was the last thing or person that really tested your patience ?

A woman turning left at a stop light. The intersection has a hill past it and she would not turn until there was no one in sight. That would be about a 1 1/2 blocks away in a 40mph speed zone.

Just for Fun:

When you go to the grocery store
Do you bag your own groceries ? No, they pay people to do that. If I did it they wouldn't have a job.
Do you prefer paper, plastic or the reusable cloth bags ? Paper. They recycle it here.
Sort the groceries as you put them on the belt ? Sort of. If I don't make at least a passing effort Mrs. Tek gets upset.

Have you ever let anyone with 1 or 2 items go ahead of you ? Of course, and I have it happen to me.

Today in History:

1738 - Bottle opener invented Thank God there were bottles to open!

Big Mac Day
Husband Appreciation Day Why, thanks!

Babble

Early today since I'm not doing much except waiting for phone calls, deliveries, and a fix it guy to come by. So I ran the dishwasher and will count to about a million when it's done then start some laundry.

After the fix it guy is done looking over the outside of the house I think I'll do some deck time. Nice day even though they said it was going to rain. It will probably start right after he leaves.

The delivery is a giant Styrofoam cooler - full of goodies from Omaha Steaks! Oh yeah, it's soon to be summer! We get this every year when they send us the "really good deal". It ends up being cheaper than buying the equivalent in a grocery store.

From an ad on the weather page:

Miniature Goldendoodle

Aren't they just the cutest things?

Everyone have a great day!

Watch TV

I can multi-task pretty good but when I talk to someone I prefer to look straight at them. Also, when I watch TV I don't want to fidget with something else.

I also don't like to talk while eating. When I meet with friends I usually let them do the talking while I concentrate on my food.

Bonus Question:

How soon after you get up do you turn your computer on ? Weekends only and that's probably the 1st thing I do before I make coffee.

Do you leave your computer on all day ? Weekends, yes.

What time of the day do you turn your computer off ? Bedtime.

Extra Credit Question:

What was the last thing or person that really tested your patience ? The dry cleaners. When back twice when I was supposed to and they weren't ready. But I bit my tongue and am glad I did. I've always had pleasant experience with them otherwise.

Just for Fun:

When you go to the grocery store
Do you bag your own groceries ? Only if it's at Winco where we have to.
Do you prefer paper, plastic or the reusable cloth bags ? Cloth is fine for a few things but most of them are too small to hold much. I do like to use both paper and plastic. Paper holds my scraps for the recycle bin, and plastic gets re-used as wastecan liners.

Sort the groceries as you put them on the belt ? No. I just place and stack them.

Have you ever let anyone with 1 or 2 items go ahead of you ? A few times, but I don't usually buy many things at once myself. I am a terrible grocery-shopper.
