Just to lighten the mood I thought I'd throw out this question. Where did you come up with the idea for your internet name that you're using on this forum? Mine kinda jumps out at you. MontanaGuy-I'm a guy who was born and raised in Montana. Now wasn't that clever of me? Of course mine is obvious but there's some really weird names out there (you know who you are) and maybe you could share with the rest of us how you came up with your unusual name.
I heard mine in a song by The 10,000 Maniacs. It was a name in a letter Natalie Merchant was reading aloud from a gold-miner to his family. And I love Nevada. Yes, I am fully aware that I did misspell the name but by the time I realized this, I was not able to go back and change it. Doh!
Ya isn't it funny how you always think of a clever name after the fact!!
My name just came from years of people telling me I had nice eyes (no I am not vain their just eyes ) It's also the screename I used when I met my husband.
While I was in the military I came up with this name. The name of my career field was Aircraft Guidance and Control Systems. We called it GCS. The troop part is what we called younger guys who were new and at the time I came up with the name I was considered a new "troop". Hence the name GCSTroop.
The meaning of my username seems pretty obvious. But it goes a little deeper than that--I found citydata while googling to find people who had relocated and were now homesick. I live in California but deliberately called myself JerZ because that's the place I was, and am, missing.
I also deliberately made it silly/rapper-ish sounding (the spelling, with Z pronounced "z") because that's the sterotype of how people do see people from NJ...that we're all girlz in the hood or something, rough and tough, with big hair, and with that accent. You know. THAT accent. LOL. I admit that I do have a little bit of it so all I can do is laugh at it...
