Our city completely shut down, ordered closed by the city, you cant do business in this county, I feel sorry for all these mom and pop places who will go under, they closed up my son's 3 crossfit gyms and he has a 15,000 rent a month, jus might break him.

Can you imagine sitting home smoking a dube watching Andy Griffeth when you hear a knock on your door and you see the police and paramedics demanding that you open your door and when you ask why, the cop says,'' Your neighbor called 911 and said he heard you coughing, now open the door, we have to test you.''

My response would always be to show the cop my 45 and to inform him that I will unload both my 45's on anyone trying to get in here, now get off my property before I release my pit bulls on you.

Dang I would be mad, but that is what is happening, Californians are calling 911 on they neighbors.

How's everybody doing in this newest-by-the-day normal?

I'm maintaining.

"One must, at all costs, maintain." - quoth guru Dr. Hunter S. Thompson.

It's admittedly easier for me to self-isolate because I live out in the boonies, with no year-round neighbours.

But man, I am seriously jonesing for baseball, basketball and hockey.

I have been pretty much living this way for years now. The only difference is that I'm not having my weekly massages, and my cleaning lady isn't coming once a week so I get the honor of cleaning the house. (What an amazing concept. ).

SIL is staying with us. She arrived from Puerto Rico about a week & half ago due to medical issues. She has an appointment with the doc next week. It was supposed to be today but they pushed it back so she will be here for 2 weeks-just to make sure. When her medical issues are taken care of, she is here for the duration-however long that will be. But, it is not a hardship on us. We LOVE having her here. I think it may be more of a hardship for her. But, she is doing me a BIG favor by vacuuming since my cleaning lady is not here to do it and I HATE to vacuum.

Usually, when she comes to visit, we make a trip or 3 to a local casino-something both of us love to do. She was thinking, "Ooh, we can go...no." I was thinking the exact same thing. "Ooh, we can...no."

Staying with my mom, who somehow injured her knee. It's been an adjustment. I've never been a caregiver on this level before. I'm not getting much chance to isolate, because I've had to go to stores and get medication, food, a knee brace for her.

She goes to dialysis three times a week. Today the dialysis center nurse called and said my mom wants to go to the ER to have her knee x-rayed, but they don't recommend it.

I said NO, she is not going to the ER. The nurse said, "Thank you".

My mother is usually sharp, but when in pain or not feeling well, she doesn't think clearly and sometimes gets confused. And obstinate.

I am sorry to hear this. I hope your mother's knee works itself out without medical assistance.

Kinda surreal waiting to die, expecting to die, already trying to figure out what to say in the hospital where they might keep me on demoral from the get go, heck, if I gotta die from this stupid virus, I wanna be high as hell. I never did mind the small things in life like dying, I just want a heads up saying,'' Mr. Hannibal, you have 6 months to live,'' I would probably feel so fortunate that I would smile and kiss the doc cause I at least got a 2 week notice, 6 months would be the best 6 months of my life, I would have no problem with dying but I sure would love to have those 6 months.

I mean, I know EXACTLY what I would do with those 6 months, things I could not do now, but things I love, dream, and want to do RIGHT NOW, TOMORROW AND EVERYDAY. It's a damn shame to deny once own urges when it aint hurting nobody else, although it may build charachter to do, its still such a hell of a thing, dont feel natural.

Do you know what you would do in that 6 months?

I know I do, and that feels lucky alone.

I think you already know this from another planet, but she died in her sleep hours after I wrote my post.
