At first I didn't read it as "modem" either.

Thanks guys. I found out the the orientation date online is wrong, so my orientation is actually March 11. That's a relief. This school goes on the quarter system, so I actually start on March 28. I love school so much.

We used to listen to AM radio, Dr. Demento, Weird Al, and oldies on car trips. My sisters and I never had any complaints about any of them.

See, that's what happens since I don't have an editor following me around on the internet. (I actually lost my mother a very long time ago. Miss her.)

Did you get to see it? I only saw the middle part.

Jimmy Fallon is an interesting person to have on there.

They did a show on Raos on Food Network a year or two ago. The waiting list...over a year!!

I'm sure you do. Just think that you get to see her again sometime. I'll be very sad when I lose my mom, but that shouldn't be for quite awhile. My husband helped me get through the loss of my grandparents just by saying that they are happy now. He's so sweet.

At what age would you all consider letting your daughter change her hair color? My 13 year old says she wants a new look but not a drastic change. I'm willing to consider letting her get some highlights or go a few shades lighter or darker unless there is some grave health risk. How safe is this? Do you go to a salon or do it yourself? How long does the color last? Here's a pic of her natural color.

highlighting is expensive. I wouldn't pay for that, personally. Maybe one she could do at home for a few dollars...

I've dyed my hair since I was 13.
Its changing the color of your hair, personally I don't see a big deal about it or why age matters but I would let her, do box dye or at home, which ever.

I currently am half blond and half very dark brown...I'm going to be dying more of the underneath blonde because you can't really see it now.

My daughters is a little darker than your daughter's hair. I highlighted it for her in 7th grade by just buying a kit from Target. Now in 9th grade, she asked if she could change her color. I figure, why not? It grows back. It's not like a tatoo or piercings, that are permanent. So, she picked out a dark ash blonde color and I helped her. Her hair is so thick, I ended up going and getting another kit a couple days later. The color turned out really nice, tho it's still a little darker underneath. Next time, she says she'd like to go even lighter.

How would you ladies deal with a neighbor who never shovels their sidewalk? We have an ordinance, so I could call in a complaint. I was considering leaving a note on their door, or shoveling it myself. We got about a foot of snow total over 3 days and I have to step out into the street to get around their house. Kids walk that way to the bus. I never see these neighbors. I've heard it is a woman and her boyfriend. As far as I know, there is no physical disability keeping them from clearing their sidewalk.

re hair color - depending on the kid it could send the message that her own hair color isn't good enough. Girls that age are so sensitive...
