Tell him you are sorry and wrong. Its what I want my parents to do so I can talk to them again.

I'd start by asking this same question in the "Relationships" forum. I can't imagine that the fact that your son lives in Utah has anything to do with your problem.

You know him, we don't. What reason do you think he thinks he has for not wanting to communicate with you?

First off, do you know any of his friends in Utah? If so, contact one of them to make sure he's alright. Then ask them to give him a message that you want to talk to him. If you don't know any of his friends, contact his employer and/or landlord to see if they've seen him. At this point, you need to get confirmation he's not injured or incapacitated in some way. Final option is to call the police to ask if they can check on him. IF he's just in a twit, at least this will show him that you care about him.

Perfect advice, beautifully said. That's it in a nutshell.
