Haha! I'm waiting for someone to top us both with no written language, only oral tradition!

Well there is no proof early humans had any oral traditions since none survived. Though iconography at gobekli tepe is often linked with early Sumerian legends which might suggest a cultural memory from times past. Though that's not a majority opinion or anything.

Shhhh! Stop inserting factual information into the story I'm weaving.

That's a fun tidbit, BTW.

Yep! Sort of blows the view that the pyramids were built by aliens since the temple was built about 11000 years ago by neolithic stone aged cultures .

Wait- there are people who believe the pyramids were built by aliens?? Are they the same people who believe they have seen movie footage of an alien autopsy?

What course is this, that you are taking?

Haha noooooo! Archaeology and anthropology are a side interest of mine. I don't have the patience to get a Ph.D, or learn 2-3 languages in the case of the archaeology, and have the awful pay with regards to anthro.

The San Bushmen had no written tradition, but later they did have iconography. They still have no written language. LK, you probably know this if you are playing along at home, but some San Bushmen tools were found earlier this year dating to 44,000 BP.

Very cool hobby, LK! My brother was toying with archaeology as an undergrad (ended up in medical school), what I know, I know mainly through him.

Zim, I find that finding amazing. Tools with the same purpose as tools today from such a very long time ago. It boggles the mind, or my mind, anyway.
