Definitely not. While the humans are on a par with my drawing talents the animals far surpass my capabilities. Though you'll notice I did a fine job of mixing the paints.

Tomorrow my son is going back to college for his sophomore year. Last year he hated how I fussed to make sure he had everything he needed, so towards the end of preparations I backed off. When he got there he discovered how much paraphernalia other students were bringing. After two days he called me with a list.
Luckily his school is only a 40 minute drive away, and he could come home on weekends to pick things up.

As I said, tomorrow is the day. He can't remember his room number. There's a pile of his dirty clothes in the laundry room. Yesterday I discovered that he had no mattress pad for the dorm bed. I know I bought one. I guess he left it there last spring.
It's a good thing I just checked his bathroom. He's out of deodorant, toothpaste and mouthwash. Guess who he'll ask to go and get him some in the morning?
I reminded him a few days ago that he'll need to find his power strip so he can plug in his printer, desk lamp and anything else electrical, and the little adapter for the cable. The little TV he took last year isn't working right, but he said his roommate may bring a TV. I doubt he'll know he needs the adapter, as he didn't bring the TV last semester. I figure if his roommate brings a TV he'll think to bring the cable - or maybe not.
I did make him buy a pair of back to school shoes. His present pair is full of holes.

Ah, how different it was with my daughter. She had everything planned, sorted and packed.

So my elem age boys forgetting to pack their backpacks, and leaving their water bottles at school is only the beginning?

Pretty much, You have to teach them self reliance though. They have to learn that if they forget things like packing their backpack, that there are consequences.

Bahahaha! My first day of my first time at college i packed about 1 hour before leaving for my dorm, and upon getting there realized my nagging mother was correct about all the stuff she wanted to buy for me that i founded unnecessary . I managed to get lucky as she was out of town that weekend i came back so i just got my daddies card and bought the stuff myself. To this day she has no clue .
