She's also been called a ****, slapper, slag, *****, trumpet, loose women, jezabel, temptress, women of the night. other words also describes prostitutes who service men from different social class, call girls and escorts. Neverless, she is still a prostitute.
A social outcast and a mystery. Little is known about them. Even hollywood can't get it right. have you seen the film pretty women?

An old proffession that will never go away. you can find one in every country. Despite their proffession they are still human with feelings and a life. many have children.
what if a women didn't take drugs and could'nt get a job, had no money.
So, do you still think that a child should be taken into care by the authorities if his/her mother is found prostituting?

I think there was a HBO special when I was younger called "Hookers-on-point". That kinda gave a vision about prostitutes and the lives they lived.

No, I don't think a child should necessarily be removed for that reason, as long as he or she were being properly cared for by someone else while his mother was wroking, and as long as the men were not being brought back to the house where the child was. I would think that a prostitute would have other problems as well, though, such as drug abuse, etc... otherwise wouldn't she be able to get some other job?

I think there are plenty of women out there who prostitute themselves to get what they want but don't get the label because they don't fit the stereotype. Nobody is worried about their kids. I agree with beanandbumpkin that as long as it's kept from the kids and they are not in harm's way, then no-they shouldn't be taken away.

You do what you have to do to take care of your kids.

Same for moms who Strip...

Do I agree, no- but they have to tend for their kids needs. As long as the kids are being well cared for while mom...umm...works...and are not near said...ummm...'work space'.... I don't think they should be removed from the home. Of course not.

As long as their children are healthy and taken care of properly and are not in harms way what so ever,,, no I don't think they should be taken away. Most mothers probably do it out of desperation to take care of their families.

Some mothers love their children enough to sacrifice themselves. We are fortunate in this country that we might have a few more options to turn to first, but in other countries or times in history, mothers have not been so lucky.

I agree. Being a prostitute does not make a person a bad parent (or a bad person, for that matter). It would have to do with what the children are exposed to, and how they are cared for.

"work space"

It really is a profession like any other, in Holland it's all legal and they get medical check-ups and pay taxes. They don't have a pimp who extorts them(well the government takes on that role but that's accepted everywhere in the world). Maybe some that "work under the table" don't pay taxes but I'm talking about those that are legal. They can take sick days and personal days LOL .
It should be recognized as a regular job to take away all the negative crap those women get dealt from the public. So if a woman has kids to raise, why shouldn't she raise them as long as she tries her best? I don't know of any other job that could prevent a woman from being a good mom in societies' eyes.
There are far worse mothers who abuse their children and who are not prostitutes.
