It does not - Please stop it....

Both cities get equal amount of attention from PA and neither have the political clout in Harrisburg to override the rest of the state. Hell Pittsburgh and Philadelphia could join forces on issues and they still cannot override the rest of state....

When you ask someone what city comes to mind when you here PA...Pittsburgh and Philly are neck n' neck....Unlike NY where NYC kills any other NYS city....Pittsburgh and Philly are more like LA and SF when it comes to state attention both get about the same amount from CA even though LA is the bigger of the 2 by a healthy margin....

Did you really just try & blame Philly's problems on NY?

As a non-native Pennsylvanian, I don't get the animosity between the two cities. They are both really great city's with their own heritage and vibe.

I mean the three NFL Championships that the Eagles won before there were Super Bowls! 1948, 1949, & 1960.

I know some people do not count those, but they do count because at the time those games were played, that was how the NFL decided its champion.

There really is no anomosity between the cities, not in the real world.....here on CD is more so the Philly homers trying to make Philadelphia look so much more Worldly and Elite than Pittsburgh simply because Philadelphia has the bigger population....

Because Philadelphia is overshadowed by NYC and DC...they want to make it seem like Philly overshadows The Burgh, but Pittsburgh isn't close enough..Hell Philadelphia doesnt even overshadow Harrisburg for what it is.

I mean truth be told if any city has more clout in PA...Look at which city seems to get all of their state supported projects built first...

Stadiums
Casinos
Transit
Arenas

But neither are on a level of NYC, Chicago or Boston of dominating state politics.

another worthless philly hating post with no anchor in the real world. your hate makes you say nonsensical things. DC is overrated. Harrisburg doesn't overshadow Philadlephia, that's flat out ridiculous. this post is as overly negative as you view drover's positive posts. there's over 100 buses a day to NY, probably 10-15 to DC which is a good indicator for how most Philadelphians view DC. eh. it would be nice if DC built every city a nice metro system though, pricks.

that has little to do with clout and more to do with how the respective cities are run. Philadelphia bickers endlessly.

which is good, really, NYC has helped Albany run the state into the ground and Illinois isn't far behind. I am less familiar with MA but certainly the big dig fiasco stuck it to the rest of the state when they underrepresented the costs by 3/4's. I view a healthy Pitt and Philly as important for the health of the state both because they help drive its economy and balance each other out.

The proverbial pot calling the kettle black?.....see the next quote:

Nonsensical, since that's not even remotely close to what he actually said:

Nowhere does Blackbeauty212 say that Harrisburg overshadows Philadelphia???

What he IS saying is that Philadelphians on CD want to insinuate that Philadelphia overshadows Pittsburgh, but that Pittsburgh isn't close enough to make the same type of comparison people do between Philadelphia, NYC, and DC because of their proximity. Then he goes on to say that Philadelphia doesn't even overshadow Harrisburg, let alone Pittsburgh.

I would say that his reasoning does have an "anchor in the real world" since it's so true.

.
is this even english? nonsense. BB is constantly bashing Philadelphia in the same manner in which "the homers" trumpet it. the harrisburg comparison is nonsensical for what it is. the idea that Philadelphia being overshadowed by DC somehow makes it less of a good place is also nonsensical, I'll take Philly over DC anyday...DC's robust job growth from outright theft of the nation's resources notwithstanding (although one could make the same argument about NY to a lesser extent). I don't see any anchor for the pot meeting kettle, I don't hate pittsburgh nor do I bash it. sorry, try again. Boston is a great place for overpaid snobs but other than that, overrated.

Would I expect you to agree with me for exposing the hypocrisy of you bashing him for being "nonsensical"? Take a guess.

It's quite simple actually:

He said that Philadelphia doesn't overshadow Harrisburg.

You claimed that he said Harrisburg overshadows Philadelphia.

That's YOUR nonsensical statement....not his.

And my point was quite clear English (and I even spelled Philadelphia correctly too!).
