As far as I know we don't. The speculation, maybe valid, was that Jennie left the home before or around the time the kids left.
From previous comments we see that two of the sisters did keep in touch with each other. Is that correct?
Catherine and ( ) kept in touch or found each other?
I'm interested in searching the s.s. death index if anyone has a good one.
Searching by birth year, and/or first name.
I don't think the SSDI is public any more.
I had suggested the OP take all of his documentation to his local social security office to see if they could tell him if his mother was listed. I don't think he ever took my advice.

Some SSDI is still public , for deaths up to 2014. See my post #596 for a link to FamilySearch's free site. It is free, but you do have to create an "account". No credit card etc needed.
Is there any possibility that Jennie might have remarried? I did a few searches through Ancestry's social security and see a possibility but the last name at death is not Galvin.

Anything is possible, especially from back then when the husbands were able to easily put their wives in a mental institution.
Pretty sure someone found a record of her being in one.

So using FS's SSDI page, it found 1,870 Mildreds with birth year of 1928. The listings then have a complete birth date. Then searching with DOB of 14 April thru 25 pages, 75 names at a page, 7 Mildreds had a DOB of 14 April 1928
As follows by last name on SSDI record, DOD, Place
Rogers 1986 FL
Benningfield 2006 TX
Collentro 2007 Lexington MA
Knotts 1982 NC
Eurich 1996 Orange NY
Loving 1983 TN
Walker 1965 NC
The Mildred Loving and her husband are on Find-A-Grave but no obituary or other clues.
The one in MA has an obituary and it mentions the name of at least one sister.
The one in TX was born in McKinney, TX (if the birth location is accurate)

True so give me a source of all Mildred's born in 1928 and died after say 1961. It can't be that many.
Bear in mind that the SSDI's that are available don't necessarily have every death listed. A case in point is my wife. She died in 2004 at age 60. Sometime later I was still getting junk mail for her. I was told that the 3 credit outfits use the SSDI to remove deceased people's info so such mail can stop.
SSA certainly knew of her death as I immediately applied for and received Survivor's benefits.
So I asked the SSA why my wife's death is not listed. They said they won't tell me.
So I had to send a death cert to all 3 credit outfits to get the mailings stopped.

As always, YMMV
I think they stopped publishing deaths by that time. If you look, the SSDI has old info. Not sure when it stopped.

As said, wife died in 2004. SSDI records made not publicly available after 2014.
This per Ancestry, Family Search and GenealogyBank:
" Beginning in 2014, legislative rules governing the SSDI changed. Going forward, records from the most recent 3 year period will not be available . Once a record is made available, it can be published."
FYI, all three, and others, now have to pay a yearly subscription fee to the NTIS for access. It runs about $3000/yr
Ancestry also says this:
"Why can’t I see the Social Security Number? If the Social Security Number is not visible on the record index it is because Ancestry.com does not provide this number in the Social Security Death Index for any person that has passed away within the past 10 years."
As a test, I did a search on all 3 for any Smiths who died in 2014 or 2015
Ancestrty 2014= 2570 names, 2015 = 0 names
Family Search= 1592 and 0
GeneaologyBank = 1798 and 0
Confused ?? Welcome to the club.
