But how would she know that is the reason? It's not like I would tell her

Perhaps she wouldn't realize it on the first date, no. But that doesn't exactly set a great precedent for dates to come/a possible long term relationship.

But if the credit card is never declined when he pays then he is doing something right I would think

Once again it's not the fact of paying with a credit card, it's the reason that he would be paying with a credit card (necessity due to lack of funds rather than convenience).

I would start using the cc for convenience on things you need to pay for regardless like utilities and gas. Then pay it off as soon as you get the statement. Entertainment I would pay with cash I set aside from the previous month not a future paycheck. So if one month you over spend then the next month you are out of luck with entertainment. Maybe you need a separate account for entertainment like people used to have Christmas accounts.
I can't see how a date will judge someone for using a cc because that is what most people who have money do. She will eventually find out if you are bad with your finances. Of course she could be bad with finances too.

No she is smart. Suze Orman recomends asking a guy what his FICO is before getting serious with anyone. And if a guy doesn't want to share his finances then dump him. Men should also do the same screening. The goal of dating is to find a mate for life. And most people want a stable and secure life not one of constantly worrying about money. Money doesn't buy happiness but the lack of it makes for a miserable life.

It's not just for dating, it's for if I received a call and someone-"hey we are going to out dinner" or "we are going to NYC" I don't have to check my finances I can just go

If the inside of my wallet is facing me when I'm about to pay the bill how would she see what kind of card I'm paying with it anyway?
