I guess it's possible to love a place and to have never visited it. People feel that way about my city Los Angeles (city of dreams) all the time. I think the love affair started when I began researching the tenement apartments in 19th century Philadelphia, the genteel black society of the 19th century, the historic buildings and of course Parking Wars helped to solidify my love even moreso. Hopefully I'll get to visit one day soon! Peace.

Awww, that is so sweet! I lived in LA (OC actually) for two years and no one cared about Philly, they were all into their surfing and stuff, LOL!

You should visit....it's COMPLETELY different from LA! Especially the people. You'll either love it or hate it, but please come and thanks for the Philly love.

SeptemberRays, I'm in the same boat as you!

I've always had a big fascination with Philadelphia.... it's a dense city full of rowhomes (rowhouses) with a great history. Cheesesteaks, water ice, and hoagies are awesome. The name "Philadelphia" just sounds neat.

I hope to move to the Northeast (most of my family lives there) and live in a big city, hopefully Philly!

hey LiveUrban, I just made the move to Philly from Dallas.

Whenever it is you do decide to move up here and need any help, just hit me up and hopefully I can be of help...being from Texas I guess I would have at least some idea of what you might feel comfortable with and such.

I also just recently moved here. Came from the West Coast. WAY different. But I love it here, Philly is such a fascinating city. Lots of history here that's very well blended with the modern. A good visit for anyone into immersing themselves in a new but familiar culture.

I'm with phillymedic. I've lived here for two years and will be here at least another year finishing up with college. I can't WAIT to leave. It really depends on where you live though and how much other people's rudeness affects you.

It's very much a love it or hate it city.
