I found this to be a great project, minus the garage door, and expensive! But there was a comment saying it looks nothing like this in real life... Is there truth to that, or just a troll?

From a week ago, but what do you all think of this? Why isn't Comcast revered like Amazon or Apple?
All equally evil corporations.
Hmmm, did Philadelphia take pride in the PRR which was the largest corp. in the world once upon a time? Dunno.

Apple and Amazon are also both thought of as cutting-edge tech companies, while Comcast is often viewed as a a more corporate, slow moving telecom company. This isn't entirely true or fair, but it takes a long time to shift public perception.

Regardless of public opinions though, Comcast is setup to be one of the dominant media and tech companies moving forward.
Actually I bet the majority of Amazon customers don't know who Bezos is.

How many people think Comcast when they see the famous Universal logo appear on movie/tv screens? Probably very few.

Do you believe Intel or Cisco are evil? Seriously? You couldn't do a lot of what you do in life without them most likely.

O don't be so sensitive, it was half a joke. But yes I do think most if not all corporations are evil, their bottom line is to get rich and make money. Doesn't mean I won't utilize them...

Residential tower planned at Sheraton hotel site in Society Hill

Another tower. I wonder how this will work with Tom Scannepieco's upcoming tower at the Ritz theater.

You champion more people with means populating the Philadelphia area and city. So do I. But are you opposed to how many of those people got the wealth they have? I honestly want to know how you square that with the view that corporations are evil. Hence investing in them is evil or making money through them, as many retirees like me are doing, is participating in evil.

What I DO want them to do, though, is pay more taxes.

Two different markets. Scannepieco’s towers have focused on a very small ultra rich niche market. His condos are ungodly expensive.

273 apartments is a different type development aimed at a wider group of people.

I’m more curious about what the prices end up being for the Jewelers Row Tower and how they compare to scannepieco’s prices.

It's Toll Brothers. They don't compete at that nosebleed end of the market either. The only guy who even came close over the last year or two is Dranoff, though Southern Land is giving him a run for his money with The Laurel.

You might want to check out Elizabeth Warren's bill, the Accountable Capitalism Act. Basically this act would require all corporations with revenues $1 billion and over, to attain charters from the feds. Leaving lots out but the goal of this legislation is to hopefully cause large corporations to switch more income toward worker wages with less focus on shareholders.
