Played a major role in american history. Unlike wherever you are from.

Killadelphia, filthadelphia. lol You're probly very fortunate to either live in the suburbs or in the small wealthier enclaves there. Common folk aren't feeling it. I hated it so much I went to the total extreme and moved to rural virginia. lol
Phillies metro tops the rest in the nation for being gross... ugh... You need to get around a bit. Exactly how many areas in chester and bucks and montgomery counties are gross. Delaware county a few, but most of the county is beautiful. And The Nj side is gross too i guess according to you. Common folk living in the suburbs dont live in slums. Sure they arent living in mansions along, but there are plenty of middle class areas. You intertwining philadelphia and its suburbs too much. I love both of them, but really they are two different worlds.

The majority of the people I encounter in Philly are indeed rude or slovenly looking. Of course there are always exceptions, but I think by moving frmo south florida, I was used to more sun-tanned beach bodies and good looking women in heels, vs, the fat, pale, and generally ugly people here.
Again, im not saying the whole city is like this, but there is a huge amount of people here that are like this.

annnnd the roads are awful around here, every road has pot holes in it, the highways are small and crap and old, everything here needs to be refreshed, it's like no one wants to invest any money into this dump. I'm not trying to offend anyone at all....im not, but perhaps some people could afford to lay off the cheesesteaks.... theres hardly any vegetarian places or healthy eating places in philly. FACT.

Again move to the suburbs if your looking for more of the glitz and glam. there are other towns aside from drexel hill, dont let drexel hill give you the idea that all philly burbs are like that. And i really dont see much of a problem with the roads around the suburbs, or even the city. Maybe your thinking of the new york area roads because some of those are aweful.

And you're from Atlanta talking this smack?? lol Really?
Let's see I was working at a job fair today and had to tell my coworker to hush it up because she couldn't believe that hundreds of people showed up dressed for success.. {NOT}

We saw people in gym shorts, flip flops, party dresses, glittery high heels, boots, baseball caps, etc.
You would never see that in Philly and this wasn't our first time doing one of these events in Metro Atlanta but it was the first time we've seen so many in one place. SMH.

I've taken public transportation to a few places and I've noticed that outside of the downtown core of the city that there's gonna be some walking involved ( No Prob.) but when there are NO sidewalks and what's there is nothing but red dirt and mud for blocks then you know not to take this town too seriously as a city.

I like it here but sorry you can't begin to compare this Mayberry with a few nice buildings to Philly..

I live in Bear, DE, & folks love it here since home prices have pretty much held their own (no huge loss in equity), no sales tax so people come here from the tri-state area to shop, property taxes are low so it helps in attaining a affordable mortgage & there's tons of new home developments, tons of shopping & resturants here, but IMO that's where the glory ends. The whole county (New Castle) reminds me of a small hick town. Come here on any Saturday night at 11pm & it looks like the whole county has gone to sleep. Good luck finding a resturant to eat at that time of night other than a diner, IHOP or McDonalds.

But Philly.........let the good times roll! Those who love to eat must go to Philly, it's a eating town with every cultural style food you want & the food is awesome. Why Philly even has it's on Chinatown with every variation of Asian foods, not too many cities offer that. You could spend a entire day just at the Reading terminal. Theaters offer many plays, there are comedy clubs, museums (the art museum takes you back centuries as if you're in ancient Greece), all types of nightlife & the serenity of Kelly Drive glazing at boat house row. I'm so glad it's not too far of a stretch when we're in the mood for entertainment cause if I had to rely on Bear to entertain us we'd die from boredom. Phila is a huge city that offers the spice of life, if anyone say's anything thing different.......they're lying. I rest my case.

that's absolutely not exclusive to philadelphia.

Ive been meaning to ask you a few questions: Why does your relative not enjoy living in the philly suburbs, i have met few people if any who do not enjoy living in the suburbs of the area, main reason is they are not suburban people. And second why do you spend so much time posting in philly threads?
I asked him to show me and let me experience it. Now, I guess I'll have him just take me in the suburbs since the city is a disappointment.

Where did he show you. There are plenty of great places to go in the suburbs, since you find the city a disappointment..

I lived in philly as ive stated previously and only because I have relatives there and great medical facilities do i continue to go there. I have been to practically every sector of this city. It once was my home. I do not entertwine the burbs and the city. I speak only for the City of philadelphia. Its a mess and the population like most northeastern cities has decreased. Many of middle class families have become disillusioned with the whole metro concept. In a nutshell, only saving grace of philly is its convenience, transportations great and for the most part you can get to anywhere fast. philly sucks! should be the new slogan it'll generate interest and people will come in droves to see if its really true. lol

You are wrong, both figuratively and literally. Philly is not shrinking. Not only that, but the poor are moving somewhere else. Stop spreading falsehoods.
