My fiancé recently got a job in Fort Washington . I'm considering jobs at a hospital in Wynnewood and Temple Hospital. We want to buy a house in Ambler or Huntingdon Valley. Should I be concerned about the commute from these towns to the above hospitals? I will have to drive most of the time.

Turnpike west from bensalem will be a **** show in the morning. If you hop on at 309 in the mornings instead you should be much better off. Avoid getting off 476 at the 76/Conshohocken exit bc of the traffic generated by 76 (if you were thinking going down Montgomery to Lankenau. You're better off getting off at St. Davids and riding Lancaster.

Commuting to Wynnewood from Ambler or Huntingon Valley would be a bear, especially Huntingdon Valley. Have you considered any boroughs in the Northwest i.e. Plymouth Meeting, Lafayette Hill, Roxborough, even Chestnut Hill? They would all make better compromises between Fort Washington and Wynnewood.

if you work with a vanpool organization, they can work with your employer to work on setting up a ride from your area!

Temple Hospital from Ambler or Ft. Wash wouldn't be that bad of a commute either on 309 or by taking the train to Fern Rock and switching to the subway.

The problem with Lankenau from Ft. Washington is that you have to get across the river and the only places to do that are around Conshohcocken, Manayunk/East Falls or Center City so not only will you have to drive at least a little out of your way but you'll also have to deal with everyone else doing the same thing. Especially with the Route 1/I-76 interchange there's really no way to avoid the traffic.
