Just because I don't want to live in a bad neighborhood doesn't mean I blame the people who are stuck there for various reasons and just think they are lazy and don't want to better themselves.

Trying to sum up the situation in Chester with a small paragraph that blames the many victims of institutional racism and classism is dismissive and insulting.

Okay, let's see try a dfferent tack and see if anyone can come up with suggestions on how Chester can improve itself. What is it about the surrounding towns that make them more successful? Is it a corrupt government in Chester that has held them back and is there a good one in place now? What can be done to improve the schools and why are they doing poorly? Mr. Opinion, perhaps you could mention whatever you are doing that is helpful.

Mr. Opinion, There is a huge difference in someone talking in general about a city versus calling someone a name. Someone can say my small town is a rat hole and I might not like it, but unless they are saying that I'm a rat, I'm not going to take it personally.

Again, let's direct our comments to the city of Chester and not pick on each other if possible.

Let's blame racism for all the crime. That makes sense.

Interesting. All of the very same people on this forum who want to see massive urban renaissances in places like Chester, Camden, Philadelphia, etc. live in the SUBURBS!!! How can these cities improve themselves if the middle-class has all but fled to cul-de-sacs?
