We are relocating to Philly (working downtown by the Marine Terminal) and we need some advice about places to live. Here are somethings we need to consider:
1. Easy/close/fast commute
2. Excellent schools
3. Fun community, entertain, friendly neighborhoods, parks, maybe a good square-like feel??

PLEASE HELP! WE HAVE TO MOVE FAST!!!!!!

Welcome to the area!

The Marine Terminal isn't actually in the downtown area, it's further south closer to the the airport and the sports stadiums....so areas closer in terms of a commute would entail the suburbs in South Jersey or Delaware County, PA.

That said, there are some excellent areas to consider. Without knowing your price range, or if you're renting or buying...here are some to consider given your criteria:

Haddonfield/Haddon Heights, NJ

Safe, good neighborhoods, easy commute across the Walt Whitman Bridge, good schools

Swarthmore/Wallingford/Nether Providence, PA
Also very safe, good schools, good neighborhoods, slightly further than the South Jersey options

Media, PA
Similar to the above two, but probably closest in description to the "town square" feel you're looking for. Downtown Media and the neighborhoods nearby are great. The only minus might be the commute, but the rest could make up for it.

Welcome Home: Media, PA
