What a strange question to ask in a Parenting forum?

I am going to go out on a limb here and make the guess that most of on this board never had some epiphany in life that made us never want children...this is a parenting board. You see the connection perhaps?

Odds are good that we ALREADY HAVE children...

There may be a better board to post this in?

Maybe you all should try looking at it from a different angle...

I've seen children out in public that have made me question it but changed my mind several times.....

So maybe someone here has at one point seen a terrible child an thought I never want children but had them later..

The OP asked for an "event". Unless you've led a very sheltered life and not experienced much, or the child was running away from the balloon stand he'd just held up, I don't think seeing a terrible child qualifies as an "event".

Every so often, like every month when the college tuition bills come due for the three oldest ones and right now teaching the youngest one to drive.

Stuff like that wouldn't affect me. Children don't turn out randomly, so another person's kid is not something I would ever have to parent/worry about personally.

With that said, I didn't really want children, or at least was apathetic about it, until my twin died. That event started a domino effect where I began to yearn for my own family.

I was old enough to really observe and understand all the work that when into having a baby by watching my mom. Nuh-uh... not for me. There were 4 after me, but the last one came out of left field, so I was old enough to remember it all... from coming home to the day his gf's mom came to the house to tell my parents that they were going to be grandparents. LOL
