You are gonna love the heat when it is 120, and most people who shop at Fashion Square are 30K millionaires, mostly phonies. We will see how you like Phoenix in 2 years, you will be dying to see anything green!

Fountain Hills was a good choice
while your enjoying the heat, and of course you'll
be drinking lots of water, but also drink the ones
with the electrolytes, like the gatorade and powerades.
I recommend you have pedialyte on hand for the babies,
they may get dehydrated and you might not know it.
If you find you sweat alot, you might get cramps in
your legs or feet at night. Your body has lost alot of
salt in the sweat so don't be afraid to eat more potato
chips. I just drink a little glass of salt water. I'm not
a doctor, its just common sense in the desert and we
hear too many times on the news where someone from
elsewhere had to be rescued and suffered from heat
stoke, etc. Enjoy the weather, and when the monsoon
storm hits, don't worry, it may seem fierce but it will
pass in about a half hour. I love a monsoon storm!

Yeah you are probably right, I will love it at 120 considering Michigan would get below 0 sometimes I would take that anyday. I lived in California for the first 18 years of my life and Mi is a crap hole and ANYWHERE is better. Green landscape isn't everything when you consider it is only for 3 months of the year and the rest is a big white out! If you live in Phoenix or the surrounding area you should go else where cause you sound miserable but hey I guess misery loves company.

Thank you! I am not a big water drinker but realize I have to be now. I have been watching the babies pretty closely and that is a good idea abou the pedialyte for an emergency. I am excited for the monsoon storms too!

one more thing, make sure you aquaint yourself
with the "stupid motorist law"
When the roads flood with rainwater, do not cross
cause if you have to get rescued they charge you
a big fine, thousands$$ pay attention to the signs
about flooded roads and roads being closed. You
could probably search the forum and find several
posts on it.

ps. did you check out the fountain yet, I love to watch
it shoot up.

So there are signs but people disobey them and get fined? Well I abide by all laws haha. I have seen the fountain from afar but haven't got to walk around it yet because I have been busy unpacking. Do you know of any good furniture stores in the area?? I am willing to drive a bit too!

you probably already know this (!), but there's lots more to the valley than Fashion Square!!.....

pack a picnic and go watch the fountain right down there at the lake.....and, yes, get in the habit of sipping water all day long....don't have to be obsessive, but you'll feel much better (less stressed).....may want to go check out Saguaro Lake or go tubing down the Salt.....if you have a capable vehicle, go drive out Four Peaks Road out past Saguaro Lake off the Beeline - nice desert out there....if you need to cool off, head up to Payson or further (gets even cooler!)....

gee, and all that is just from your part of town!....

Thank you! I was being sarcastic with the fashion square talk...

I love to tube but I can't take 6 month old babies on a river I don't have any babysitters in the area so I am screwed on that kind of stuff. My mom is moving here soon so then I can explore the fun stuff. I am going to check out Saguaro Lake...can you swim there? Is there any funny stuff in the water I should watch out for? I haven't seen any bugs in my house (knockonwood) soo I am happy about that. Also, where is a good place to go for the 4th? or furniture stores would be helpful too!
