My husband, daughter and I will visiting Gilbert from South Florida in the end of August. My husband will be testing for a job there. We lived in Chandler for about a year in 2003 and loved it! We are hoping to move back as long as the job goes through and since we will not be traveling back and forth alot we want to use this trip to look at potential places to live. We will have about 2 days to look around. We are unsure yet if we will rent or buy but I think at first we will rent. We are not very familiar with the Gilbert area so thats where I am looking for suggestions. We are looking for a newer home with a pool in a master planned community (if Gilbert has those). Three with a den or four bedrooms around 2k a month. We were looking in Peoria and really liked what Vistancia had to offer as far as the community programs. Let me know if you need any more info. Thanks

If your husband's job is in Gilbert, you don't want to live in Peoria.
For $2,000 a monthm, you should be able to rent a very nice home. And, yes, I do recommend renting first. After six months-to-a-year, you should know exactly where you want to live.
Do a search at http://www.phoenixmlssearch.com for rentals in Gilbert and Chandler, 2000 sf or larger, 4 bedroom with a pool, and see what comes up....

Thanks, I looked on that website and didnt find much that really appealed to us. I am wondering if I should work with a real estate agent being we wont be able to see the inside of the rentals without one. We def. wont be living in Peoria I was just using Vistancia as a refrence of what type of community we like. It would be way to far of a commute.

I actually was looking at the Shea website earlier and sent myself an email so we remember to visit there when we come. Are the models still viewable? I like the marquette model. Love the 4 car garage thats awesome! Here in South Florida you would only get a 4 car garage if your house cost about 2 million. I really want to go view the models we love looking at them.

Sorry to hear that. When I did the search, I came up with five pages of mostly nice homes in your price range that matched your criteria. Some of them made me saw "wow". Maybe I'm not as picky....

Warning: The Seville CC (pools, gym, golf) are impressive, but they are NOT part of the HOA and is open to people who live outside of Seville. You have to buy into the CC itself (thousands) and pay a separate (IMO very expensive) membership to use them. I don't think many people who live in Seville belong to the CC. They market themselves very much on being "exclusive" and prestigeous -- check out the Seville CC website. I don't like to pay to have my ego stroked. LOL

If you have your own pool you'll probably never go to the community one, or just when you have guests. We just moved into our new house this month and we use the pool for a couple hours every evening -- when we lived in an HOA with a pool we went maybe once a week and that's just 'cause of the kiddos asking.
